INTERNATIONAL: Friday, 15th of February, 2022, thousands of protests started to arrive in Australia’s Capitol city Canberra. Protestors have gathered from all around Australia to march in the Capitol towards Parliament house.

The Australian Federal Police boss told a Senate estimates hearing that, overall, protesters were well behaved during the demonstration, but there a number of people were identified from police intelligence.

Saturday 16th Protestors marched peacefully towards Parliament house with, signs, banners and the Aussie flag held up high, shouting out slogans. Followed by trucks, the elderly, families with kids in pushers. All aiming for the same thing, Their freedom of speech, their freedom of life. Their freedom of taking the vaccine or not. Showing their freedom of rights.

There were some arrests during the march but overall, it was a peaceful march.

Protesters set up camp in the north of Canberra, hopeful in the days ahead may lead. Police slowly moved in and moved on the campers. The police evicted and gave warnings to any protests still in the area would be arrested even if they were on private property.

This reporter was speaking to one of the protesters who has been there since Friday was saying ‘’it was not right what the police are doing to us we are not causing any trouble’’.

Another had said planes were doing a flyover and ejecting some kind of fluid. The next day we woke up with puffy faces and blisters on our faces.

What are the true figures of protesters saying another protestor? I was told there were about 40,000 campsites, and an AFP member mentioned there were 1.4 million vehicles that entered Canberra over the weekend.

A lot of protesters have left Canberra in fear of not knowing what was being ejected from the planes. Was it chemicals? Is it something that can affect the protesters long term?

The commissioner said about 200 AFP officers were involved in policing efforts during the protests.

The protesters were part of the Convoy to Canberra, which has been carrying out rallies and disruptions across the city for two weeks.

Saturday's protests were the largest involving the group.

Thousands had been staying on campgrounds in Canberra's north but were evicted on Sunday by police, due to the grounds being needed for the upcoming Canberra Show.

One of the farmers that were housing some protesters where police were evicting had won a court case. The farmer is permitted to let the protesters stay at Caloola Farm.
